Felicity needs a night light

I'm delving into my archive for these photos. I always find taking night shots a challenge on my camera because I still don't understand enough about the manual settings and the auto light sensor has conniptions followed by some very unladylike sounds from me!!!

The following, however, were taken on the self timer with a tripod and I love the results (It's amazing what you can achieve with time and patience!

I couldn't exactly tell you why, but this is one of my all time favourite photos,

it really was a case of right place, right time and it's not classically beautiful or anything like that but it catches my eye every time.

What do you think?

My apologies that I haven't any "lights of Middlemount" but there really isn't much to take and we've had some pretty ordinary weather so everything would have been blurry anyway. One night I will take photos of the incredible storms across the plains and the lights of the town from the top of the hill, however I need to study my camera manual more first! :-)
